The highlight was without a doubt spending 7 days on a houseboat cruising the Chobe river. I had my own guide and boat for most of the time and spend hours photographing the phenomenal mammal and bird life.

One of my favorite birds the brightly colored Pygmy Geese takes off after being flushed by my presence.
A herd of Cape Buffalo trapped on an island between Botswana and Namibia, notice the lady with a bundle of fire wood on her head in the background. Minutes later the buffalo was surrounded by big clouds of smoke from fires that the locals start every season to encourage re growth of the vegetation.
A Pied Kingfisher takes off in pursue of its prey a small fish.
The Black-Shouldered Kite a small raptor mobs the majestic African Fish Eagle on the Banks of the Chobe River.
An Elephant cow raises her trunk to sniff me, I was meters away from her and decided to use a wide-angle lens to portray the open habitat of the Chobe water front.
The elusive Sqaucco Heron hides in thick grass and reeds to conceal it's presence.

The Chobe and Zambezi river ecosystem is home to hundreds of thousands of birds and at dawn they roost in the numerous dead trees.
